OUR HOUSING MODEL
Sanctuary First, because a stable home is where one can truly focus on a fresh start. Home is what provides the solid foundation necessary to help turn dreams into reality. We believe in the power of a home to change lives and support all those who seek to do just that. Our program members come from all walks of life, vary in age, and are all in some form of recovery. Each benefitting greatly from a supportive shared living environment, located in wonderful family focused neighborhoods.

We are not a shelter facility. Our unique housing model provides a safe, stable, mutually supportive, shared living environment in beautiful single-family homes. Unlike most recovery housing, located in less than desirable areas of town, we offer upper middle-class homes in family focused neighborhoods. Research has shown how hard it can be to succeed in recovery, when someone is thrust back into the same old debilitating environment. Our program members live by the Golden Rule through the use of our House Rules, our Good Neighbor Policy and taking part in Daily Chores.

Our homes are strategically located near public transportation, employment and education opportunities. Our collaborative partnerships with local supportive service agencies, medical services, peer support, counseling, and treatment centers support a successful and sustained recovery. We support dual diagnosis as well.

Our program empowers women and helps them build the courage they need to chase after their dreams. We emphasize social and interpersonal aspects of recovery through accountability, grace, and responsibility. We partner with proactive employer outreach programs in preparation for upcoming job searches. We require a commitment to living drug and alcohol free, personal accountability, teamwork, and maintaining a drama-free home. We ensure a peaceful environment within the home. Our no-visitor policy ensures each member’s safety and personal privacy. We work daily to eliminate negative stereotypes and debunk the various myths associated with our target demographics.
We have high expectations for the individuals who reside in our homes. As dependency lifestyles tends to grow more and more isolating along the way, a big part of recovery has to do with learning to feel comfortable around others while at the same time learning to love oneself. We offer community-based living with shared bedrooms, emphasizing the importance of supporting one another in recovery. Our model incorporates a social support network component that’s proven invaluable and encourages continued abstinence and success in recovery.
